Ted Kennedy (b. February 22, 1932; d. August 25, 2009) was the youngest of the Kennedy’s nine children and served as a United States Senator for half a century. He was known as “The Lion of the Senate” and worked tirelessly on social and civil rights issues, including voting rights, equality for minorities, women, the disabled and gay Americans, as well as health care reform, which was perhaps his greatest cause. He was a passionate liberal with skills as an orator. While in DC, Kennedy lived in this house, located at 2416 Tracy Place NW, a large, six-bedroom palace in Kalorama. It features a balcony, terraces and a pool.
