Steve Case (b. August 21, 1958) is a businessman and co-founder of the Internet and media company American Online (AOL). Before making history with the company that helped revolutionize the Internet and gave new meaning to the phrase “you’ve got mail,” Case was a marketer for both hair products and Pizza Hut. In 1983, he joined Control Video, which became Quantum Computer Services and then America Online, a name that Case, himself, originated. He soon became CEO and held the position through many of the company’s successful years. He was also at the helm when AOL acquired Time Warner. It was the largest merger in history at that time. Obviously, Case is not a man of few means, so it comes as no surprise that he once owned this home, located at 1714 Massachusetts Avenue NW. Case ultimately sold the house to the government of Trinidad and Tobago in 2009 for a reported $12 million.
