Sandra Day O'Connor (b. March 26, 1930) was the first woman to serve as a U.S. Supreme Court justice. O'Connor was a state senator and judge in Arizona until 1980, when President Ronald Reagan nominated her to the high bench. During her years on the Supreme Court, O'Connor sided with conservatives most of the time, but was a swing vote on many key issues, including the case upholding a woman's right to abortion. After more than two decades on the court, O'Connor retired in 2006. During her years as an associate justice, O'Connor reportedly lived here, at 4 Oxford St in Chevy Chase, Maryland. According to Maryland property tax records, the O'Connors held the property from 1992 to 2005, when it was sold.
