Monica Lewinsky (b. July 23, 1973) is easily the most famous White House intern ever. Lewinsky held a number of administrative government positions, but it was her sexual exploits that made her famous. In 1997, secretly recorded conversations revealed she had an affair with then President Bill Clinton. Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives for trying to hide the scandal. He was later acquitted by the Senate and remained in office until the end of his term in 2001. Since the late 1990s, Lewinsky has tried her hand at a variety of professions, such as handbag designer, reality show host and author, without much success. Years later, she is still unable to escape her reputation as the president’s mistress. During the 1990s, and after the scandal broke, Lewinsky lived in her mother’s apartment at the Watergate apartment complex, located at 700 New Hampshire Avenue NW. Interestingly enough, her next-door neighbor was Bob Dole -- the man Clinton defeated in the 1996 presidential race.
