Charlie Peete Rose Jr. (b. January 5, 1942) is a celebrated journalist and the host of his eponymous interview show that airs on PBS. He is known for his intelligent and engaging interviewing style. He has interviewed many celebrities, politicians, artists, actors, writers and sports figures. Prior to his talk show, Rose worked as executive producer for Bill Moyers' Journal and as host for CBS News Nightwatch, where he won an Emmy award for a 1987 interview with convicted murderer Charles Manson. Rose reportedly owns property in New York and his home state of North Carolina, and lived in this Woodley Park house in the eighties and early nineties. Rose purchased the house from another journalistic bigwig, Tom Brokaw, in 1984, then sold it to yet another, Tim Russert, in 1993.
